Kate joined HLK in 2023 and is a member of the Tech team. Kate has experience in prosecuting and drafting patent applications over a variety of technologies including medical imaging and devices, machine learning algorithms, computer simulations and modelling, optical fibre sensor systems and geospatial data processing. Kate has particular experience in handling software and computer-implemented inventions both in the UK and Europe.
During her final year at university, Kate received the Sheffield Association of University Women Winifred Moulds Prize for her overall performance. Kate was also awarded the Gill Prize by The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) for achieving the highest overall mark in her UK qualifying exams.
